ColorOfChange.org

Many of you will recognize the name Van Jones, the current Green Jobs Czar. One of the groups that Jones co-founded is ColorOfChange.org, which is asking its members to 'Stop Glenn Beck's race baiting' by petitioning Becks advertisers.

The website reads: Fox's Glenn Beck recently said President Obama is 'a racist' and has a 'deep-seated hatred for white people'. Beck is on a campaign to convince the American public that Obama's agenda is about serving the needs of black communities at white people's expense. It's repulsive, diverse and shouldn't be on the air.

On the very same page, the ColorOfChange.org says "they are 'strengthening Black America's political voice. Using the Internet, we keep our members informed and give them ways to act on pressing issues facing black people in America. We are united behind a simple, powerful pledge: we will do all we can to make sure all Americans are represented, served and protected-regardless of race or class'.

If their mission is to strengthen black America's political voice, how can they also 'do all they can to make sure ALL American's are represented? Is it so they don't sound like racists and have a deep seated hatred of white people?

Meet the Czars

Here is a current list of Czars and potential Czars appointed by the Obama Administration. Just so everyone is clear on exactly what a czar is, here is a definition as provided by Wikipedia

Originally, the title Czar (derived from Caesar) meant Emperor in the European medieval sense of the term, that is, a ruler who claims the same rank as a Roman emperor, with the approval of another emperor or a supreme ecclesiastical official (the Pope or the Ecumenical Patriarch).

Occasionally, the word could be used to designate other, non-Christian, supreme rulers. In Russia and Bulgaria the imperial connotations of the term were blurred with time and, by the 19th century, it had come to be viewed as an equivalent of King.[3][4]

Being a 912'er

The Richmond Patriots is a community that is just 5 months old and already we have issues that are testing our integrity. Recently, we were asked by a potential candidate to help find "dirt" on their opponent. Now, is the incubate for the post corrupt? Probably. I guess the assumption that was made by the challenger, was "we are for conservative values and will do anything to advance the cause". Please be assured that after this exchange communication was stop and this candidate removed from our membership.

This incident brought to light that being a 912'er requires making some tough decisions. Were we to tough on this candidate? Maybe. However, when it comes to holding on to integrity you must be vigilant. Even one incident no matter how innocent it may seem could jeopardize your reputation.

During our short 5 months of existence, we have been contacted to fund raise for candidates, to help sell "products" for local GOP, and to promote GOP events. We have declined. To this we would like to announce once again, The Richmond Patriots is a non`partisan group. If a candidate feels they are in line with the 912 principals and can demonstrate it to us by their past actions, we will provide a platform for them to get their message to our members. This NOT is an endorsement. We will NOT campaign as a group, but simply provide information for our members to make an informed decision.

Richmond Patriots totally grassroots?

This questions was ask in the discussion forum on our site www.richmondpatriots.ning.com The person who posted had a friend who apparently is buying the media reports that our movement is "funded" by the GOP. Below is our response to this accusation

The Richmond Patriots have been asked to participate WITH the local GOP's many, many times and we have declined.

Some GOP workers are blurring 'grassroots organizations' and themselves are they go door to door and call themselves 'grassroots workers' and that could be where the problem arises.

A few weeks ago, the Henrico GOP held a GOP meeting on 'meet the local grassroots organizations' which the Richmond Patriots declined to participate. This meeting was moderated by a GOP door to door campaigners, who are NOT active members or organizers of any local or national 'grassroots organizations'. So 'grassroots' was interepted through the eyes of a local campaigner.

Also, a local 912 group, who is having a health care program this week, has been advertising on the Henrico and Hanover GOP email updates. Although,we, the Richmond Patriots, are wanting education on the HR3200, we would NEVER promote the Richmond Patriots or our events through or with the GOP.

You can be assured that, the Richmond Patriots do not now, or ever will affiliate ourselves with the Dems, GOP or third Party groups.
You will see from time to time, we will participate with a individual candidate or an issue (from the DEM's, GOP or Third party) that we feel is a 9/12 candidate or issue. The organizers (Laura, Michelle and I) decide what to promote, there are no Karl Roves or AARP behind us.

As you have noticed, we are not incorporated, nor do we required dues, only the cost we incur is keeping the website up annually and cost of flyers. That's something to look at, when you are looking for 'grassroot organizations', also.

Hope this help clear up any misconceptions about the Richmond Patriots.

Why State Soverneity is so important.

The 10th Amendment

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The 10th amendment of the Constitution may not get as much attention as the other amendments that protect individual rights, so one might ask why do we need to protect states rights. Here is one reason so eloquently put by (I LOVE) Sarah Palin:

On Monday [today, August 10th], [Alaska] lawmakers will meet to override my veto of stimulus funds. As Governor, I did my utmost to warn our legislators that accepting stimulus funds will further tie Alaska to the federal government and chip away at Alaska’s right to chart its own course. Enforcing the federal building code requirements, which Governor Parnell and future governors will be forced to adopt in order to accept these energy funds, will eventually cost the state more than it receives. There are clear ropes attached, and Alaskans will soon find themselves tied down by codes which will dictate how we build and renovate homes and businesses. The state has hundreds of millions of dollars already budgeted for conservation, weatherization and renewable energy development. Legislators don’t need to play politics as usual and accept these funds and the ropes that come with them.

Also this week, Alaskans will join Senators Murkowski and Begich in town hall meetings to discuss the current health care legislation. There are many disturbing details in the current bill that Washington is trying to rush through Congress, but we must stick to a discussion of the issues and not get sidetracked by tactics that can be accused of leading to intimidation or harassment. Such tactics diminish our nation’s civil discourse which we need now more than ever because the fine print in this outrageous health care proposal must be understood clearly and not get lost in conscientious voters’ passion to want to make elected officials hear what we are saying. Let’s not give the proponents of nationalized health care any reason to criticize us.

- Sarah Palin

Two things jump out at me with this statement and things that I feel is so important for people to understand. First the federal government is dictating (controlling) state law by putting stipulation with the stimulus money, or I love Sarah Palin's term of "ropes". So much more weightier than string and an appropriate analogy. Secondly, I don't think the general public understand that the states have the right to refuse federal money. They don't understand that the federal government providing money as a result of the state meeting these requirements is a clear volilation of the Constitution. However, when states do comply with the federal requirements and recieve federal funds it opens the door and the States 10th amend rights is slowly reliquished to the federal government.

In order to understand this a little better you must also look at the 17th amendment:
The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote.

The 17th amendment chance Section 3 - The Senate, which orginally stated:

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, (chosen by the Legislature thereof,) (The preceding words in parentheses superseded by 17th Amendment, section 1) for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.

The reason the Senate was orginally set up to be elected by the legislature is to make the Senators the voice for the state. When this was changed, the state lost it's voice. Two thirds of the states were able to ratify the amendment to have it added to the Constitution. Did they really consider the consequences or were they looking for away around the 10th amendment? That is the question that comes to my mind, but this happened in 1913 and I am not going to speculate as to motives. It was a different time then. However, I do believe the fact that the Senate is no longer elected by the state legislature, is a huge mis-step in our history with a bunch of unintended consequences as the result. This is why the current health care bill (HR 3200) and Cap n Trade (HR 2454) should not even be a federal issue, hence are unconstitutional.

Who's really the astroturfer?

Recently, this email from Moveon(dot)org was brought to my attention. While I was encouraged by the fact they feel the need to "fight back". Several things stood out to me about their so called "grass-root".

Dear MoveOn member,

It's getting ugly out there.
All across the country, right-wing extremists are disrupting congressional town-hall meetings with venomous attacks on President Obama's plans for health care and clean energy.

* Last night in Tampa, Florida, a town hall meeting erupted into violence, with the police20being called to break up fist fights and shoving matches.1
* A Texas Democrat was shouted down by right-wing hecklers, many of whom admitted they didn't even live in his district.2
* One North Carolina representative announced he wouldn't be holding any town-hall meetings after his office began receiving death threats.3
* And in Maryland, protesters hung a Democratic congressman in effigy to oppose health-care reform.4

We've got a plan to fight back against these radical right-wingers. We've hired skilled grassroots organizers who are working with thousands of local volunteers to show Congress that ordinary Americans continue to support President Obama's agenda for change. And we're building new online tools to track events across the country and make sure MoveOn members turn out at each one.
But we need to scale up our efforts quickly to make sure this plan works. To really swing into action during this month's congressional recess, we need to raise at least $250,000 immediately. Can you chip in $20 to support our work?

NOTE: If the bullet points in the top of the email are true than, that is unfortunate, because it detracts from our message.

Please enjoy these two pictures and decide for yourself; Which one was paid for?

The Angry Silent Majority

This week as the US Congressmen returned to their districts for the August recess they are being greeted by some angry constituents. The scene is playing out all over the internet via blogs, videos, and some clips are even hitting main stream media. As protesters get louder the politicians have resorted to name calling: astroturfer’s, paid GOP cronies, my personal favorite angry MOB and the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi even said protesters have swastika implying that they are Nazis. OUCH. That youtube video has gone viral, I’m not going to post it here because, I'm just tired of seeing it.

In years past I have heard the term silent majority and often wonder who exactly are the silent majority and why are they silent. President Nixon made an appeal to the GREAT silently majority as a way of countering the anti-war protesters and his belief that the protesters were in the minority. They probably were at that time. The last comment in this video is chilling, in my opinion.

So what’s different about today's protesters? Is this silent majority, finally being silent no more, as the Tea Party movement slogan suggest "Silent majority, silent no more". Genie Zunic wrote in a recent email:

I admit it, I am a tea partier! Just to counter the attack by the media on my friends and me, I would like you to know that I have met many people through the tea party movement and they are not schills for insurance companies or the Republican Party. As a matter of fact, I have met many people who are angry with both parties. I, myself, voted for Democrats all of my voting years until Bill Clinton soiled the office of the President of the United States with his shenanigans. It took me a long time, but I realized that the Democrat Party is not the party of the little guy anymore. They are a party of Socialists who want to "transform" the United States and I don't see anything wrong with the country of my father and grandfather.

The part highlighted in bold IS the truth. It's both parties, the democrats do not get "IT" and are blaming the Republicans. The republican think we are on their side. Neither is true. If the silent majority is guilty of anything it is, not paying attention to what the elected officials were doing after the election. Our founding fathers warned of this, Alexander Hamilton wrote: " ..the people are commonly most in danger when the means of injuring their rights are in the possession of those [towards] whom they entertain the least suspicion" (Federalist Papers, No 25)

What makes these protest different, is the silent majority has been tested to it's very limit. The alarm clock has sounded and the sleeping silent majority has woken. We can no longer remain silent and keep our freedom. We will NOT be pawns of the Republican Party! We will embrace the labels such as the of angry mob. We will laugh at the label astroturfer, because it's not true. That is the practice the liberals started in an effort to manipulate the system. We will remain vigilant and I hope will learn a hard lesson. We can not and WILL NOT be silent again.

Note: This blog was NOT paid for by the Republican National Party.

Right Now ~ Guest Blog by Laura Alcorn

It's time to talk to your family like their life depends on it. If you don't educate your friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances to help them while there is time to prepare and prevent, you'll wish you had, and they'll ask you why you didn't. More importantly, you will have to face your children and grandchildren and explain why, despite seeing what was coming, you failed to warn them.

The systemic instability introduced by the encroaching tyranny, the cracking of our foundation, can not lead to prosperity and success. Our economy, our military power, our peace and prosperity, cannot continue as before if the current assault on our liberties has much more success. We must block it and counterattack. The economy is faltering. We are entering an economic depression. The stock market is artificially inflated due to bailout cash. Small business, which generate 70% of all job growth, received no bailout. Only large corporations are handing more power and control to the government. If liberty is not restored and soon, we'll witness the largest destruction of wealth in the history of the world. Communism/socialism/fascism/... call it what you will, the writing is on the wall. For those of you who know history and know what will happen, all who surround you are counting on you. It is time, do not wait another day.

You can start by, gathering people in and educate them. Attending every event that your politicians attends. Let them know you are watching them, lobby, call, write every politician who represents you. Prepare your family for possibility of economic hardship, replenish your emergency stockpiles. Speak without fear, blog, email, host parties and tell everyone what you see.

Government Takes over your computer!

O.K. I am getting a little creeped out. I went to the cars.org website last night to research for the post below. I did not get as far as the terms or press submit, but they will have record of my computer going to their site. This is serious, people!

UPDATE: The video link of Glenn Beck segment has been taken down because of terms of use violation. I did find another post with the exact same footage. I'll just link it in case it is also removed. Click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWs12ccbOiE
