Thoughts on 09.12.09

On Saturday in Washington DC, we witnessed a phenomenon, a genuine, spontaneous politcal movement with no visible leader.

The numbers of protesters for exceeded the 70,000 preliminarily estimated by the Capitol police. The helicopter count estimates more than 1.5 million.

We will never know the true number because the National Park Service does not want a lawsuit like the 1995 Million Man March threatened. The number would have to be leaked by the DC's mayor office like happened at Obama's inaugurantion.

We brought own own flags and banners. We came from any states, as far away as Seattle, Washington and Miami, Florida. The crowd contained many immigrants who are upset that America seems ready to adopt the failed policies they had been trying to escape.

Everyone in the politics, journalists, lobbyists, consultants, czars, elected Democrats and Republicans alike, need to know this: Those un-counted people who established the local emails lists, organized first one, then two, then three chartered buses, held sign-making parties and packed lunches, ARE NOT GOING TO GO AWAY any time soon. Continue to enact legislation that we cannot afford and WE will be back, perhaps in even greater numbers.

The Republicans need to realize that they are not trusted. You are part of the reason we are getting on the buses.

The Democrasts need to realize that WE are beholding to no one. White House senior adviser David Axlerod said. "The protesters do not represent the views of the broader public when it comes to healthcare reform. They are not indicative of the nations mood. We should not be distracted by that. My message to them is. They're wrong."

I say, "Mr. Axlerod, you are wrong." Go ahead and marinalize us and call us 'racists' or 'angry mobs' that speak in extreme rhetoric and conspiracy theories. With the recent tapes of ACORN and Van Jones scandel, I think we look sane.

Lead, follow or get out of our way. Congress is up for election in 2010 and we are going to Flip The House.
