ColorOfChange.org

Many of you will recognize the name Van Jones, the current Green Jobs Czar. One of the groups that Jones co-founded is ColorOfChange.org, which is asking its members to 'Stop Glenn Beck's race baiting' by petitioning Becks advertisers.

The website reads: Fox's Glenn Beck recently said President Obama is 'a racist' and has a 'deep-seated hatred for white people'. Beck is on a campaign to convince the American public that Obama's agenda is about serving the needs of black communities at white people's expense. It's repulsive, diverse and shouldn't be on the air.

On the very same page, the ColorOfChange.org says "they are 'strengthening Black America's political voice. Using the Internet, we keep our members informed and give them ways to act on pressing issues facing black people in America. We are united behind a simple, powerful pledge: we will do all we can to make sure all Americans are represented, served and protected-regardless of race or class'.

If their mission is to strengthen black America's political voice, how can they also 'do all they can to make sure ALL American's are represented? Is it so they don't sound like racists and have a deep seated hatred of white people?

  1. I think the implication is that by representing the black voice they are making sure ALL are represented; therefore implying that only non-blacks currently have a voice.
